Vessa is a daily softgel for women 45+ who want to support the strength of the vein and capillary walls in their legs — and the aching, heavy, restless feeling that so often comes with them. One softgel a day with food. 30 softgels — a full month at the studied doses.

What Vessa does and does not do: Vessa is a nutritional support product for vascular wall integrity and leg comfort. It will not erase veins that are already visible. Nothing you swallow does that — that is what sclerotherapy and laser are for. What a venotonic protocol is for is the pressure, tone and capillary fragility underneath.

The three actives, at the doses used in the published literature:

  • Horse chestnut seed extract 300mg (standardised to 20% aescin) — a Cochrane review of 17 randomised trials found horse chestnut seed extract significantly reduced leg pain, heaviness and itching versus placebo in chronic venous insufficiency. Aescin reduces the leakiness of small vessels under pressure.
  • Grape seed extract 150mg (95% OPCs) — oligomeric proanthocyanidins bind to and help stabilise collagen and elastin in the vessel wall. A 2019 review found OPC supplementation improved capillary resistance and reduced the sensation of heavy legs.
  • Vitamin K2 (MK-7) 100mcg + Vitamin C 60mg — vitamin C is a required cofactor for collagen synthesis; without it, no vessel wall gets rebuilt. K2 supports normal vascular elastin.

This is a dietary supplement, not a drug. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. A vein that is suddenly painful, hard, hot or cord-like, any leg ulcer or skin breakdown near the ankle, or a vein that bleeds requires prompt medical assessment. Do not use if you take warfarin or another vitamin-K-sensitive anticoagulant without your doctor's approval. Consult your physician before use if pregnant, nursing, on a blood thinner, or under 18.
